The celebrity beauty market continues to expand with the arrival of a new brand focused on simplifying daily grooming routines. Jennifer Lawrence launched Mes° this week, a hair care line built on the premise that effective maintenance should not require a complex, multi-step process.
The debut collection includes exactly three products: the Multitask Repair Mask, the Off-Duty Restyling Serum, and the Good Roots Volume Mist. Consumers can purchase all three items as a set called The Low Maintenance° Edit. This bundle is currently available for $10 less than the sum of the individual prices, a discount the brand describes as limited-time.
Lawrence partnered with Jasmina Aganovic to develop the formulas. Aganovic is an MIT-trained chemical and biological engineer who serves as the founder and CEO of Arcaea, a biotech beauty company. She previously founded Future Society, a fragrance brand. The collaboration aims to address common hair concerns through a high-tech development process while maintaining a low-maintenance user experience.
The Multitask Repair Mask is designed for application on dry hair, allowing users to add moisture and shine without waiting for a wash day. It features a silky, gel texture that functions as a styling product to create a glossy finish. The brand states that the mask can be left on for as little as five minutes before rinsing. It contains squalane and coconut oil to repair damage and strengthen hair.
The Off-Duty Restyling Serum targets frizz and flyaways on days three, four, and beyond after a wash. It protects hair against heat up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit and is formulated to be lightweight enough for fine hair. Usage instructions advise applying one to two drops to the midlengths, either before styling damp hair or after blow-drying as a finishing treatment.
The Good Roots Volume Mist addresses flat, oily hair by reducing scalp oiliness without drying out the scalp. The brand suggests using it before blow-drying or while hair air-dries. It is positioned as a potential alternative to dry shampoo for maintaining volume between washes.
The entire line has been tested on all hair types. The goal of the formulations is to ensure that hair looks consistent and well-groomed on day four as it did on the initial day of styling.
