The Westlake Chaparrals host the Cedar Ridge team at Chaparral Stadium on Friday night for the District 25-6A matchup.

Both teams enter the game with strong standing in the region. Westlake defeated Lake Travis in the previous week, while Cedar Ridge maintains an undefeated record. This contest serves as a key test for the Chaparrals in their current season. The game is scheduled for Friday evening at Chaparral Stadium. It is considered the primary game in Central Texas for this week.

Several other high-profile games occur in the same timeframe. Lake Travis, currently at 3-3-1, travels to Round Rock, which holds a 6-2 record. The Cavaliers have not finished a season below .500 since 2022. Round Rock lost to Weiss and Westlake earlier in the year. In District 14-4A DII, the Wimberley Texans, who are 7-0, play at home against Manor New Tech, which stands at 5-3. Additionally, the Thorndale Bulldogs, an 8-0 team in District 13-2A DI, host Rosebud-Lott, a 9-0 squad, for the district championship.

Other local teams face their own challenges. McNeil, currently 0-9, plays at Westwood, which is 1-7. San Marcos, at 0-8, hosts San Antonio Wagner, who are 1-6. Eastside, also 0-8, travels to Austin Achieve, a 1-7 team. Cedar Park, the only other unbeaten team in Central Texas with a 9-0 record, plays at 2-6 Vista Ridge.

The UIL state playoffs begin in two weeks. Several Central Texas districts are close to finalizing their standings. This timing creates urgency for teams determining their playoff eligibility. Colby Gordon covers the Westlake-Cedar Ridge game from Chaparral Stadium. Jay Plotkin reports from the Lake Travis-Round Rock game. Shaun Chornobroff covers the Wimberley-Manor New Tech matchup.

Other scores from the night include Bowie defeating Akins 55-7 in District 26-6A. Killeen Shoemaker beat Connally 38-14, while Anderson defeated Cedar Creek 63-0 in District 12-5A DI. In District 13-4A DI, LBJ won 78-19 over Northeast.
