The National Basketball Association schedule expands sharply on Wednesday, featuring twelve games compared to the four played on Tuesday. This increase provides daily fantasy basketball players with a much larger pool of options for their lineups.

Several high-profile stars are expected to play, including Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Nikola Jokic. Rookie prospects Caleb Wilson and Yaxel Lendeborg also figure in the projected rosters. However, the slate is complicated by the absence of key players, most notably Anthony Edwards and Kawhi Leonard, who are both sidelined with knee injuries.

Mike McClure, a professional daily fantasy sports player with over two million dollars in career winnings, has identified specific targets for Wednesday. McClure serves as a predictive data engineer at SportsLine, where he utilizes a model that simulates every minute of a game ten thousand times. This method accounts for matchups, statistical trends, and injury reports to identify value plays on platforms like DraftKings and FanDuel.

McClure lists Timberwolves point guard LaMelo Ball as a primary pick. Ball is priced at $7,700 on DraftKings and $7,900 on FanDuel. He has averaged 14.8 points, 6.3 assists, and 2.0 rebounds in his limited time with Minnesota. With Edwards out for approximately two months, Ball assumes the role of primary scorer and distributor for the team.

The matchup against the Golden State Warriors favors Ball offensively. Golden State has allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing point guards on both major daily fantasy sites this season. This defensive weakness offers an opportunity for Ball to elevate his production beyond his current modest averages.

McClure also recommends Atlanta Hawks guard CJ McCollum, who costs $5,300 on both DraftKings and FanDuel. McCollum is shooting 53% from the field and 44% from three-point range this season. He enters Wednesday's game against the Miami Heat after scoring 20 points on Monday.

McCollum has scored in excess of 20 points in each of his last four games against Miami. During that stretch, he also averaged 3.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists. The Heat defense has allowed 121.8 points per game this season, ranking seventh-highest in the league. This defensive vulnerability aligns with McCollum's recent scoring consistency.

Analysts suggest that selecting players with such favorable matchups can determine the outcome of tournaments and cash games. The expanded slate allows for more complex lineup construction, requiring players to balance salary cap constraints with the projected output of available stars and sleepers.
