Brewers sit at +500 for 2027 title after historic run
Milwaukee’s first championship boosts its betting position, yet Los Angeles remains the favorite for next year's series.

The Milwaukee Brewers hold +500 odds to win the 2027 World Series, placing them in second position behind the Los Angeles Dodgers. This ranking reflects a shift in market perception following Milwaukee's capture of its first title in club history on Wednesday. While the victory altered how bookmakers view the Crew, the financial disparity between franchises keeps Los Angeles ahead in the projections.
DraftKings lists the Dodgers as the top favorite with +310 odds. The New York Yankees follow the Brewers at +700. A consensus top three exists across major sportsbooks, though rankings diverge for the teams behind them. DraftKings places the Boston Red Sox fourth at 11-1, with the Philadelphia Phillies and Seattle Mariners at 18-1. BetMGM and Caesars Sportsbook list the Atlanta Braves as the fourth option, with odds of 13-1 and 16-1 respectively.
The shift in odds for Milwaukee stems from its postseason performance. The Brewers swept the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series, a result that changed how operators assess their capability in late October. Johnny Avello, director of sports operations at DraftKings, noted via email that previous seasons saw early exits for Milwaukee due to roster construction issues. He stated that the recent run has increased confidence in the team's ability to succeed in high-stakes matchups.
Eric Biggio, head of baseball at Caesars, agreed with this assessment. He said the head-to-head sweep against Los Angeles cemented Milwaukee's status as a championship-caliber team. Despite this, the Rays remain outside the top six in most rankings. DraftKings posts Tampa Bay at 22-1, a substantial improvement from the 80-1 odds they held before the 2026 regular season began.
Financial factors continue to drive the top of the board. Milwaukee and Tampa Bay built their teams with payrolls in the bottom half of the league. In contrast, Los Angeles and New York possess greater financial resources that allow for aggressive offseason moves. A BetMGM representative pointed to the Dodgers and Yankees' current talent and their ability to add players as key reasons for their favored status.
A contentious collective bargaining agreement negotiation is expected this offseason, which could alter these dynamics. However, bookmakers are currently sticking to established patterns from the modern era of Major League Baseball. Avello explained that early odds account for potential offseason additions. He noted that while specific signings are unknown, Los Angeles and New York have a history of acting aggressively when opportunities arise.
Other teams show mixed results in the 2027 outlook. The Chicago White Sox are listed at 30-1 by DraftKings, up from 500-1 at the start of the 2026 campaign. The San Francisco Giants, who were expected to be contenders, now hold 200-1 odds. The Colorado Rockies maintain the longest consensus odds at 500-1.
