Rain and strong winds are the main weather features for Omaha on Monday.

Temperatures will rise into the 70s during the afternoon. South winds will gust to 45 mph for many locations. Dew points will reach muggy levels, making the heat feel uncomfortable despite brief periods of sunshine.

Storm intensity will increase after 5 p.m. Wind gusts over 60 mph are possible from one or two storms. Forecasters indicate a chance for a brief tornado or two during these evening systems.

Showers will continue through the night and into Tuesday morning. These later storms will be weaker. North winds will pick up, causing temperatures to drop. The official high for Tuesday will be about 64 degrees.

Temperatures in the upper 50s will appear in the Tuesday morning. By the end of the Tuesday day, lows will fall into the lower 50s. Rain chances will remain highest from Tuesday morning into the early afternoon. The rain will then move east into the evening. The sky will stay cloudy and chilly.

Wednesday will feature clouds covering the sky. Highs will be in the lower 50s. Spotty showers are possible, particularly in the northeast. North wind gusts will reach 30 mph.

Some areas may record more than one inch of total rain over the next three days. This is most likely if storms pass directly over a location. Clouds should decrease on Thursday before returning on Friday. Another storm system will bring wind on the weekend. No clear freeze is currently in the forecast. Two nights with temperatures in the 30s are expected, creating potential for frost within the next ten days.
