Baltimore's quarterback depth chart collapsed on Sunday night.
Lamar Jackson left the field on the first play of a 36-10 loss to the Bills. He is scheduled for thumb surgery and his season status remains uncertain. Backup Tyler Huntley also exited the game with a toe injury after completing two of four passes. He suffered a sack before leaving the field.
Huntley is expected to get an MRI on Monday. The scan will determine how long he sits out. With both older options sidelined, undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano entered the game. He completed 10 of 21 passes for 91 yards and threw one interception.
The Ravens now face a short week. They play the Jaguars in a Thursday Night Football game. Head coach Jesse Minter said the staff needs 24 hours to assess Huntley's status. He also wanted to confirm Fagnano handled the game well. Minter noted the plan will be finalized soon.
Fagnano told reporters he feels healthy enough to start on Thursday. He acknowledged that bumps and bruises are part of the job. The team will evaluate his condition before locking in the lineup.
