Air defense units in Voronezh Oblast reported intercepting 113 drones during an overnight assault on the Russian city.
The attack occurred during the night of October 25 and 26, 2026. Governor Aleksandr Gusev confirmed the high count to Interfax, noting that more than 70 drones were downed directly over the city limits.
Ukrainian OSINT channels Supernova+ and Exilenova+ identified the primary targets as the Voronezhsintezkauchuk rubber plant and the Voronezh Aircraft Production Association, known as VASO. Voronezhsintezkauchuk operates under the Sibur group, producing synthetic rubbers and polymers. VASO belongs to the Ilyushin Aviation Complex division of the United Aircraft Corporation and manufactures components for the Ilyushin Il-96 jet airliner.
Gusev stated that fires broke out at several industrial businesses, a business centre, an apartment building, two dacha settlements, a school stadium, and a garage cooperative. He described the events as occurring without significant consequences, though he did not initially name the specific companies in his official statement.
Russian media outlet Astra provided specific impact locations. Video showed an explosion at the Galereya Chizhova business centre at 35A Koltsovskaya Street. Explosions were also recorded near residential buildings on 52A 25th Yanvarya Street and 4K Arkhitektora Troitskovo Street.
Damage was documented at the Uritsky residential complex on 135 Uritskovo Street. At least ten cars were engulfed in flames in a car park on 275/1 45th Strelkovoy Divizii Street. Astra readers reported hearing explosions and air defense operations for over an hour. The city was covered in smoke, and residents noted that no formal air-raid warning was issued before the strikes began.
Gusev reported that damage to building facades and windows was recorded in nearly every district of the city. Local authorities are currently assessing the full extent of the damage to public and private property.
