SportsLine's predictive model projects a combined 43 points in the upcoming matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders. This forecast positions the projected total above the current 40.5 over/under line. The simulation runs 10,000 iterations of the game to determine the most likely outcome.
The statistical trend supports a high-scoring result. The over has hit in eight of the last 10 meetings between these two teams. In their most recent encounter on September 13, the teams combined for 46 points. The over has also landed in five of the last nine games played by Philadelphia and eight of the last ten played by Washington.
Both squads enter the contest with notable statistical leaders. Philadelphia running back Saquon Barkley has rushed for 244 yards and one touchdown on 43 carries in five games. He is expected to play despite a back issue sustained in the previous week's loss to the Cowboys. Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels has completed 64.7% of his passes for 759 yards and five touchdowns without an interception in four starts. He also added 213 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries.
The teams are currently in a slump. The Eagles, with a 2-5 record, are on a five-game losing streak. They lost 38-21 to the Dallas Cowboys in the most recent Monday night game. The Commanders sit at 1-4-1 and lost 23-17 to the San Francisco 49ers on October 19. Both clubs are dealing with major injuries. Washington wide receiver Terry McLaurin is out for the season with a knee injury. Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts is also out for the year due to blood clots.
The game is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland. Washington holds the all-time series lead, 91-88-5. However, Philadelphia has won three of the last four meetings. The Commanders are listed as 6-point favorites in the betting market.
