The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1 on Monday night to take a 3-0 lead in the World Series. The victory puts the Brewers one win away from their first championship in franchise history.

The decisive moment arrived in the fifth inning. With the bases loaded and two outs, the Brewers scored eight consecutive runs against former teammate Freddy Peralta. This marked a new World Series record for two-out runs in a single inning.

Manager Pat Murphy emphasized that the series is not over. "They don't give in," Murphy said. "They make every pitch count, and that's what it takes to win." He noted that Tampa Bay remains a capable opponent in a best-of-seven format.

The rally began when Brice Turang grounded a two-run single past shortstop Taylor Walls. The Brewers followed with seven straight hits, none of which were home runs. This small-ball approach mirrors the strategy that led to an MLB-high 103 regular season wins and a 10-1 start to the playoffs.

Rookie left-hander Robert Gasser pitched six shutout innings for Milwaukee. He allowed only one hit and faced the minimum number of batters. Gasser became the first left-handed pitcher to face the minimum over at least six innings in a World Series game since Sandy Koufax in 1965. His postseason ERA dropped to 0.60.

Brandon Woodruff closed the game with a ninth-inning appearance. The 33-year-old veteran made his first start since suffering a shoulder injury on July 4. "What better way to make your re-debut in the playoffs than in the World Series?" Woodruff said.

Jackson Chourio led the Brewers with four hits. William Contreras added three hits, raising his postseason total to 18. That figure sets a new record for Milwaukee in the postseason.

Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash's team has been outscored 18-7 in the series. Rays third baseman Junior Caminero acknowledged the gap in performance. "They're just playing better and things are going their way," Caminero said through an interpreter.

Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday night at Tropicana Field. The Brewers will attempt to become the first team since the league expanded to a seven-game division series format in 1985 to sweep both the LCS and the World Series. Twenty-five teams have taken a 3-0 lead in the World Series historically, and all have gone on to win the title.
